Basement Boppity Bop Bop

my friend, Ann, has a sister.
the sister has a new blog.
the idea behind her blog is home design.
I am interested in Home Design.
the sister has a name.
it's Angela.
the name of her blog is Imagine Cozy.
the basis for Imagine Cozy and Angela
is to redesign rooms in a home using what is already there. hidden treasures, if you will; things you didn't even notice were around. this, along with re-arranging and maybe a purchase of a second hand lamp or a pillow or two...bringing together a whole new room, for practically nothin'.
and she does this for free.
really, no strings attached, well, just a little string.....you have to let her post the before and after pics on her blog.
that's easy enough.

So, Angela came to me.
and it just so happened I have an ugly basement. I didn't mean for it to be ugly. but it was.
and very uninviting too. I hated going down there.
My original concept was for this to be a fun place for the teenagers. And it has been fun, i guess.
but, ugly too. and after 3 years i still had not gotten around to prettying it up.

Ugly....

Then, in steps Angela....

Not Ugly anymore!
I now love coming down here. Love, Love, Love It!
She did such an awesome job.
And the teenagers think it Rocks too!

ok, i cheated a little, buying just a few new things- the two pictures on the back wall- click on image to enlarge....

so cool, hu? I found them at IKEA- which is a store I sometimes like, but feel much of their stuff is really cheap crap....but it has its place and i am digging their art. These were only $59.00 each!

Bargain!

now, you go check out Angela and Imagine Cozy -scroll down and you'll see my room and what she did - then give her a nice big welcome to the world of Blog. And read her tips on how you too can use the simple elements that she uses bringing rooms to life for little or no money.

for more fun in home design and other goodies, go to Hooked on Houses where every friday you will find a little linky party full of fabulous ideas and eye candy.

  4. Great transformation! I'm off to check out her blog! I agree - IKEA is loaded with cheap crap. But it's still a fun afternoon. I wonder if any of it really sells. I know that some of the nicer things like the Ektorp leather couches are always on backorder 'cuz my niece was a on waiting list for a long time. My co-worker had cabinets installed in her kitchen that are very nice, too. ~ Robyn
