nope, I don't hunt.....

but,
i've got a gun

i believe in being able to protect myself.

i believe in the 2nd amendment.

DON'T TREAD ON ME!

if someone tries to hurt me or my family, i'd like to have a viable option for defending myself.....

like say....a loaded gun.

yes, loaded!

(i think these pants, complete with the gun,
make my butt look good)

What great videos! I freakin love that Ted Nugent. Especially when he says numb nuts and I don't want a repeat offender, I want a dead offender! Can he be president.

And the second one.... wow! I hadn't thought about assualt weapons in the way that she explained a defense purpose for them.

Hope you don't mind, but I think I'm gonna have to blog and link to you!

The Vineyard said...

Didn't grandma Carrie own a gun for a long time?

Dan grew up with guns in the house, we have two right in our home. And yes, that butt shot does look good!

I am convinced that about the only people really afraid of guns are those who have had no exposure to firearms growing up and the government, wanting to make sure there are no "uprisings". Now I sound like a conspiracy theorist. Ha ha.

hoLLy said...

oh yeah! you rock sheila! these videos were both AWESOME. i am with you 100%. joey and i each have a gun. he has taken me to a shooting range to make sure i know how to use it(which reminds me, its been awhile and i need practice). and wow, does ted ever say it right? dead offenders-EXACTLY!

the second amendment truly is our gun permit. how do those idiots not see that? we have the right to defend ourselves people! there is nothing to be scared of-other than the lousy criminals who use them against us. why are we trying to limit our use of them when no matter what these madmen will have them? and kill us!

and yes, your butt looks dang good:)

sandyseashells said...

Well, you know how I feel.
I got one-
it's loaded-
I carry it-
and I can hit a pimple on any politician's ass who tries to take it from me!

"The 2nd amendment of our Bill of Rights, is my concealed weapon permit. PERIOD!" -Ted Nugent-

Melissa is right...you ARE rock star!!! I'm so glad she faceboooked this so I got the chance to read it. I love Ted...YES he should be our President. And your butt never looked better!!! I live in Massachusetts and we can't even buy a BB gun without a permit!!! Seriously...it is practically impossible to own a gun here. We tried getting into a class to get the permit...but even after waiting for our turn, paying the fee, going through the class....it still does NOT guarantee you can get a gun. That decision is made by your local police chief...based on his opinion of whether you really need one or not. What happened to MY second amendment rights???? With the frequency of home invasions in this state...it is terrifying to know that the best we can LEGALLY do is have a baseball bat. Gee...I wonder if that might be part of the reason home invasions are so high in this state. I wish I lived in Texas or Utah where people still have a right to protect their family!

tammy said...

You know I love you.

And this post.

And Luvpilot for having guns.

And your butt does look good (what kind of pants are those?)

Annie said...

Let's talk some more about those fabulous capri jeans. I love those pockets and yes, they do make your butt look good. What kind of jeans are those and where can I buy them?!

Annie said...

There is an older gentleman in my ward who likes to sing,

"Annie, get your gun, get your gun, get your gun..."

...whenever I come in the room.

I've always been more of a knife carrier, myself.

Pedaling said...

okay, ladies....
the jeans
the are new religions....my first pair---i normally cannot wear this brand because my thighs are too big.- but, my long legged girls always look great in them...anyway, i was at thanksgiving point where they now have a little clothing section and there they were, these capri's --not noticing the label (i'm not a label gal) i tried them and they fit and i liked what i saw.
i saw something far more stylish that what walked into that store.
so i bought them...and they were less than the normal cost. so that was nice.
annie i'll take you there when you come- and also rod works and also the necklace boutique, if you'd like.
tammy i'll take you too.
oh, and i think it's funny- ya'll must be thinking...."damn, if they can do that to HER butt, then they must be something good!"
:)

tammy said...

They are super cute on you...you look great! I love Thanksgiving Point. And Rod Works. Let's go!

Melissa said...

Ok, seriously. I want those capris. They have been on my wish list for some time now. If I can only get this stinkin baby weight off!

the duchess said...

Love Ted! I was so excited to see/hear him in person at the Alamo. And, giiiirrrrrrrrl!!! That pic of you in those jeans is fierce! Seriously, on fire, Mama. I'd hate to be a thief who tries to snatch that handbag from you in a dark alley. Love it.

I'm headed to the gun range soon myself. LOCK & LOAD, baby.

Jan said...

Love it. Ted Nugent is awesome. I have enjoyed him for many years since I got to know him beyond the stage.

Great pictures and you said it so well. And I have no gun to my head to say these things. But I have one too.

The Farmer's Wife said...

That video of Ted is the best! Amen to everything he said. Your butt shot is great! love the jeans and love how the gun fits so naturally! It is illegal to have guns in this glorious country in which I live...can't say it has stopped me!

Ginnie said...

ummm, and you have officially become my husbands best friend...

Thank you for sharing these videos!

sue said...

what are conservatives so afraid of? Why do you all need to have loaded guns? Makes no sense to me and its your personalities to be fear-mongers. Maybe if you weren't so mean you wouldn't be so afraid of others.

sweet older sister said...

Yes, Jen Gramma Carrie did have a gun! Someone, had to take it away from her! She was a little dangerous!

tammy said...

Dear Sue,

Conservatives are the nice ones. They just want to ensure our freedoms that we've had since the constitution was created. It's the liberals wanting to take away all of our rights and money that does all the bashing and also who we need to protect ourselves from.

If someone is breaking into MY house and threatening harm to MY children, then damn straight I'd want my husband to have a gun and to use it.

We need less government control. Not more. My life has been just fine until now.

Dawn said...

You go girl! I have no problem with you protecting yourself!

Tanja said...

You know how to rock it... making a statement, standing by your thoughts and sporting those capri's.

I ♥ you!

sue said...

maybe this is what you are afraid of, your own party! Google Jeff Sharlet and read about his book, very scary stuff going on behind closed doors, I for one am scared to death!

Pedaling said...

oh, sue;
you just don't get it do you....
still spoon fed the same ol' same ol'

please, allow me to help you understand.

'we conservatives' are not "afraid of our own party" why?
because many of us are no longer affiliated with any one party. many call themselves (ourselves) independents, libertarians or state ourselves specifically CONSERVATIVE republicans.
- this post was about the 2nd amendment. not parties, not corrupt politicians on both sides....

so, back to the subject...

sue, what is it about the 2nd amendment that you do not like?
can you explain YOUR views...we've stated ours in OUR OWN words...our own thoughts, values and beliefs....those who have commented on this blog and myself are all about the constitution being upheld....not changed, not reworked, or reworded. the constitution protects our freedoms and our liberties and was written to protect "we the PEOPLE" from powerful and even more dangerous PRIDEFUL, politicians and big Government.
there is a reason why this country is so great and why my great grandparents along with millions of others immigrated to america and continue to do so....it's because of the freedoms allowed us by virtue of the CONSTITUTION.
and the constitution specifically gives me (and you) the RIGHT to own a gun!

(if you choose to state YOUR thoughts and why you believe a certain way, and why a normal citizen should NOT have the right to protect themselves from the virginia tech, columbine, south carolina, trolley square,,,murderous rampages....then please see if you can actually do so without calling we conservatives any names!)
good luck!

sue said...

oh I know you have a right to carry a loaded gun, I just think you are living a life of fear for no reason. Why fear if you have God to protect you? I could not live with that kinda fear, sorry. Now what about this C St cult that has conservative senators and governors as members, thats scary. I really should shut up or this private secretive group might find me!

tammy said...

The only fear we're living in is the fear of our government taking away our rights.

God intended this to be a free country.

There is no way that Sue could have watched those videos. If she did, how sad that she doesn't have compassion for all those that have had to face FEAR. Not because they wanted to or live their lives with fear, they were FORCED to face it.

I hope in her day of being FORCED to face FEAR, that she will remember all those that she shunned in that moment. God help her and her family members in their time of need for protection.

Everyday, someone faces those that bring FEAR into their lives. How can you just turn your back on those that have been there and felt it and FEAR became REAL for them. They didn't live their life wanting that. Most are happy go lucky people just like Sue is making herself out to be. Not a care in the world. But then came that day. The day their life was turned upside down by some whack of a job. Maybe not even to them. Maybe to their child or parents like that poor lady described.

I stand by those that have been treaded upon by perpetrators to want the right to carry a gun for protection. I stand by those that have the right to defend themselves and those they love. I stand by those that have shot someone that is harming our society. I stand by those that understand the 2nd amendment as written and are willing to defend it.

I never wish for the worst upon those like Sue. I just don't understand how someone can live in this country and not understand what those videos were truly talking about. Void of rights in their hearts for others.

Constitiution all the way.

How about we just outlaw crime instead. Oh....wait...
