made me laugh

sometimes when we are bored of our normal friday night dates,
big daddy and i will get on the motorcycle and end up at
byu.

when  we get there, we just walk around and laugh at all the students.

don't get me wrong.
we love the y.
big daddy actually attended school there.

he was one of them.

our daughter recently graduated from byu--it's no easy education, nor is a piece of cake to even be accepted to attend this private school.
it's a great school where one walks away with a mighty fine education,
one where any parent would feel joy and comfort in sending their child.

but still,

we do laugh.

last weekend as we walked the halls, we saw this sign in the window and it struck our funny bone.

i wonder if anybody will actually show up,
or if instead, they'll tell themselves....

'mmmm yeah, well maybe next time.'

16 SPEAK:

  1. I was so going to go to that but the procrastination class was at the same time...

  4. My wife and I used to laugh at BYU students too, when we were students at the U. There is just something 'peculiar' about them. (Peculiar meaning "funny")

I love your joke about procrastination, but what I want to know is what is with the lady on the poster?! I love her little tie thing.

  5. BTW, what that poster does not say is that the class doesn't start until April of 2013.

  6. Ha Ha Ha---love that poster... Love Cheeseboy's comment too....

BYU is a fabulous school. Even though of us in the east know about it and the academic standards... Great School!!!!

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  7. I was going to say something profound, but I'll save it for later.

  8. At least you have a sense of humor about the strangeness of the "Y." My hubby went there and I tease him about it ALL of the time.

btw - In this day and age; who dresses like that chick with the scarf...yikes! Maybe she is a role model for chasteness?

  9. Oh yes. The posters at the Y. There are some good ones I'll say!

  11. I particularly like how the time is taped over. It looks like no one showed up for the original time...so they had to set it back.

  12. I've been meaning to take that class for 17 years.

  13. Ah yes, people watching the Y. A past-time that never stops giving.

So do you eat while you are there? Creamery? Brick Oven?

  14. I hope you don't mind, this totally inspired my current post on my blog. I even stole your picture. So, you are an inspiration and maybe you'll even get a few followers as I linked over. (I'd apologize for calling BYU my least favorite university, but it is the truth.)

  15. Why would any woman allow that picture of her on the poster?
Looks like a short, squatty, old, airline stewardess from the 60's.
