trimmin' the tree and other happenings

sunday night, after dinner, the kids and i decorated the tree.

my children are all getting so old.  it kinda makes me sad... even though we do have a lot of fun together.  I'm glad they still get excited for Christmas!
big daddy sang to us as we decorated.   i think he may get the most excited of all.  he's such a kid when it comes to the christmas season.  he loves everything about it and really goes all out on the gift giving, the food, the service and making sure the meaning of it all isn't lost.  we didn't get the lights up on the roof (because i wanted to spend that $$ on a fake tree this year) and every time we drive up to our home he is bummed.  oh well.   our  tree looks magnificent, by the way!
it's been a very busy week.  blogging has certainly taken a back seat.  hopefully next month i can get back in the blog posting and commenting groove... i miss that groove.
we are keeping our fingers crossed that  krista and ryan get here with the little ones sometime during the month.  it's just not the same without them.
i would love to post more political or maybe on the awesome blessing which we call a miracle that happened last week--- thoughts on sunday's lesson which covered parts of the book of revelation, or ted's tender moments spent with a dying friend.....i have tons of thoughts on other things besides family...but, oh, the time it takes...so lately i've just been doing what i can to document family happenings--which, let's be real, probably gets kinda boring to everyone else.

15 SPEAK:

  1. Amber doesn't look like herself in that first picture-at least I didn't recognize her until I looked at the other pics.

Since you are pretty conservative, I'd like to know why you support Romney? Also, how do you feel about the "Ron Paul Revolution"? Curious...

Sending you a big hug this Christmas season! Your children are beautiful too!!

  5. Life has been busier for me too lately. I find myself marking most of the blogs in my reader as read.

I agree with The Farmer's Wife...I would love to hear those posts when you have time.

Your tree looks lovely. I'm sad about my kids getting older too. What are we gonna do about that? I hope Krista and the fam make it there.

  6. I have been feeling kind of sad about my kids getting older too. I want the "wow factor" that used to happen. I miss it!

I think we all are so busy right now. My blog has never been so far behind.

Regarding political: I lost a discussion this morning because I haven't studied up on Newt. This co-worker went on and on about Obama and how much he has done for us (puke); I I didn't have my facts straight. Lame huh?

Your house looks beautiful. You never bore us!

  7. Hi Sheila, I'm jealous of you all --for having so much wonderful family around you...

I had to decorate our tree by myself this year... Even though I enjoy this time of year, it felt a little lonely this year... BUT--I'll get to see at least one of my sons during the holidays I think...

    Have a Blessed Christmas.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  13. I love the tree!
Our house is dark too this year. Our continual outside construction project has put a damper on outdoor decor.
